Hi,

Have flown this route relatively often over the past 2 years and have always been on a flight with a 747 or if im lucky an A330. Personally I prefer UC in the 747 and prefer the cabin in the nose (always end up in 15/16A!) and the seats are a bit roomier than on an A340!

Im scheduled to fly again in 2 weeks but have noticed when booking my seat that its an A340 seat map? Looking at What A/C here its showing 6% of the aircraft that have flown the route (on data VFlyer holds) is an A340. Not that im complaining at all, was just wondering if anyone else has found themselves not on a 747 on this route?

Found this photo online which sums up the problem with the A340 UC config, its a bit... snug!

The LHR 747 aircraft are being phased out and will all be gone within the next few months.

I was so glad to fly on an a340 on Saturday after flying on an a330 last Tuesday! It might be tight compared to the 747, buts its still loads better than the a330.
