Well folks Clubhose it ain't but certainly no complaints from me :D
Relaxing atmosphere and great selection of wines etc though the food menu seem pretty limited, no problem as I have high expectations of the food they are going to make me eat on the plane . :-P
Good trip over from Amsterdam this morning though the little girl opposite did throw up her breakfast over her seat and the isle  , in you are in 2E on a BA767 today you have been warned!

So even when in the top tier of the BA lounge hierarchy, it's still not a match to the Clubhouse? I'll be visiting my one and only time likely in August next year...

Nope! I've visited it twice and my best day there wasn't as good as my worst stay in the LHR Clubhouse.

I had such high expectations.

In some way I understood why Galleries Club was so awful. I even got why Galleries First was quite bad (apparently, not seen it, maybe after getting Gold at christmas we'll pop in on way to Maui).

All the shorthaul Club traffic gets in the Club lounge, and that's a lot. Add in the status and its positively heaving. Gold wasn't that hard to get, so GF would be overcrowded. I doubt if BA even separated out the short haul traffic, it would improve it that much. My memories of GC is slop for food, certainly no dessert and chasing the table clearers around for champers....

But the CCR is only accessible to First passengers or people with over 5K points (I used to think GGL 3K's got in, but they don't). They've got their top customers pretty much sitting there and they don't make the effort. It's not as if VS's lounge's three meal is the only good thing they have...

Enjoy your flight!

The CCR and CH are very different places, many who fly BA First and like the CCR, don't like the CH because its too loud & casual.

People complain about the self service element of the Club lounges, but I have often found the quality of the food to be better than the CH.

The CH is aimed slightly more towards leisure travellers, CCR aimed more for passengers to spend the time before the flight to relax (the cabanas you can very easily sleep in etc).

I like both the CCR and the CH, but do miss elements of the other when in one.

Welcome to my sitting room!

Yes, comparing the BA CCR and VS CH is like comaring M&S to Google - they have different ethoses.....you pays your money, you makes your choice.

I too like both, for different reasons.

You're no doubt we'll in your way, but nonetheless, have a great trip.

Bretty, made it to SFO.
Excellent flight on an A380. The first cabin only has 16 suites and they are certainly very comfortable.
The food was extremely good and the BA staff professional and friendly. As you all know the crew can make or break a trip, this is my first BA long haul for about 20 years but on today's experience it won't be the last. (The have to bring me home later in the month  )

I found BA's onboard service far more consistently good than VS, wheras VS won the ground. Though the SF Clubhouse would have been better behind security, though BA lounge after security isn't much either....

Must admit, I was a little underwhelmed with the CCR when I visited in April - not all that much different to the Galleries First lounge - bar the restaurant area.

Looking forward to my first visit to the VS Clubhouse for the first time in nearly 12 years (where has the time gone?!) next week though.

14! I want to try the 787-9 as its only got 8, though having flown AA 777-300 with 8F, its strange to have the division in the middle of a section, though at least on BA they have thick soundproofed curtains rather than the see-through curtains you get on AA...

Don't expect much from the BA SFO lounge if you go home from there! You will miss the CH there for sure!

Sorry Hamster must have miscounted, math was never a strong point!
Have used the CH at SFO in the past, it was very good and my lasting memory was being ushered through the scrum at security by an agent calling "make way for the Virgins"!
Will be interesting to see how BA live up ?
