I have read various discussions about what is right and wrong to wear in UC/Business and Club house/lounges but I have been having a chat with the wife recently about our upcoming trip to South Africa and the question of Christmas jumpers popped up. As we fly on national christmas jumper day (yes I know its another random made up day) and we thought it might be fun to wear christmas jumpers.
Just wondered what other people think about this? fun idea or should we stick to the smart casual approach!

There is absolutely no need to dress smart casual in UC. As long as it's not offensive, anything goes. Comfort is the first priority.
Christmas jumpers will do just fine! Even the crew wear them on Christmas Day.

If you want to see people dressed casually on a plane, have a flight in AA First! Flip flops, shorts and t-shirts.
People should wear what's comfortable, apart from people on staff travel, airlines like to make them stand out by enforcing dress codes!

Agree, wear what you want (bring a hoodie as its get cold!)
However STRICTLY no flip flops, bear feat, crop tops or velour track suits when I am flying Upper.
So when is Xmas jumper say, is it an American or British thing?

Drat, my Hermes velour tracksuit is not appropriate then? Matched with my Louis Vuitton flip flops of course!

I like to get dressed up for occasions and flying in Upper is one of them.
I enjoy it when others have also made an effort.
Christmas jumpers? I'd call that making an effort and say go for it.

Its Friday 18th December
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_Jumper_DayHave found some cracking jumpers, some not quite appropriate! If you spot a random couple with champagne, virgin red heads and christmas jumpers on the 18th come and say hi!

I have opted for this tasteful little number for my last day at work before Christmas:

This is gradually moving into über camp territory. Sadly I shan't be partaking in the wearing of such sartorial eccentricity
