I'm keen to know why HL, I love the A346s for several reasons, firstly they're quiet and comfortable (the space on a 747 in UC was great but they're noisy) and secondly, they came to VS at a time when it cared about so much more than it does now, you could see this in several ways: from the loos were delivered in a custom colour, to the chrome window blind pulls, to much more that was custom to VS's cabin interior. With the A333s and B787s VS hasn't done much to the standard interiors other than the seating.

When the first 346s came VS was a very different airline and I kinda 'heart' back to that.

A346 is by far my favourite VS plane, such a shame to see so many leave before their time.

First encounter was an Air Mauritius A340 many moons ago(cant recall if it was a -600 or -300). Spent many Happy Hours at the UC bar on VS flights to Shanghai since then

+1 For the 346, lovely aircraft! I love the suite and the bar!

VS are keeping 7 of them correct?

Another supporter of the 340-600. I've flown in all its 3 classes over the years and honestly have never had any complaint.

When flying home from SFO earlier this year, we sat in the 'nose' part of the 747. That is all about personal choice too because we hated it as its so wide, busy & noisy. I love the wall facing seats on the 340 and so wish this aircraft was taking us to MCO next March ;-)

-1 for the A346. I know I'm in the minority but I always found the UC cabin felt quite cramped. I actually like the A330 for the smaller cabin and even though the 747 has equal seats, the way it's spread out and split makes it feel a lot more welcoming. Yet to get on the 787.

Love the a340's, the sound of those engines spooling up lifts the hairs on my arms... Quiet in the cruise, more so than a dreamliner in my view and uc feels open and spacious. Shame they never updated the ife as it would be almost perfect. On one again in a couple of weeks to JFK

I love the A346 but it seems to rely on the curvature of the earth to get airborne.

Yes, it looks like it, details here

Most recent status is still 'Transferred to another country or authority > UNITED STATES OF AMERICA' which is what happens when aircraft go to the desert.

I would love to spend a day there poking around.
