Heads up on a potential sale

Just a wee heads up on a potential sale.

Have been hunting for flights for beginning of January (yes, last minute again), even trying BA.com but getting nowwhere.

Received a "call" yesterday from BA Executive Club asking about an enquiry I had made via the web site and wondering if there was any reason I hadn't completed the transaction - BA have seemingly had problems with their website and he was just checking it hadn't been an issue with the site that had stopped me.

Long story short, I asked him about flights and he said "wait till Friday, the sale is starting then"

So - a :- BA sale starting Friday and b :- Virgin (as usual) will probably follow suit with some better prices

Here's hoping

Yup, but they are not great prices, hence everyone was hoping when BA launched their sale, VS might "realign" some of theirs.

Here's hoping :)

Both BA and VS are becoming like DFS with almost constant sales or special offers that are starting demean them both and their images.

One of these days they'll fall foul of trading standards laws for false advertising.

Well, thing about Virgin sales is the ones which they don't talk about.... Those 1300 quid UC returns to Montego Bay happened on occasionally when messing around on the ita matrix....

So it would be like if DFS stopped advertising, and then cut the price of their sofas....

Not sure if there is any price matching going on (I haven't checked against the BA site), but there are some much cheaper deals to various destinations. So far I've found:

East coast (NYC, IAD, BOS) coming in at around £1400 in UC (July/August dates)
Miami ~£1,500
ORD ~£1,700
SFO/LAX ~£1,900
MBJ ~ £1,300 on some limited Wed-Wed dates in Aug/Sep/Oct

Managed to come across a nice little PE deal to Toronto for ~£790 in PE for the above dates as well.

Also curiously there's a lot of dates for DEN coming up at less than £400 in Y.

Will update the post as I find more :)

BA Sale started yesterday, looks like a price match. As usual, VS won't be sticking those prices on their website (though might surprise me one time).
