BA sale so chance of VS silent price match....

BA's just started its cheapest ex-DUB sale last night.
People seeing JFK business class under 800 quid, about 850 quid west coast, and just over 900 for Honolulu.
Dates seem to be the usual, high season for economy, but low season for business so basically just before and after Easter and July/August.
VS might match them, well, at least the ones they go to...

If you wait for a price match you risk losing out... If you find a great fare, just book it.

I'm seeing those too, £750??? Never seen ex-DUB for so cheap, praying VS do match.

Why not just take the fare and fly BA?!

Tier points, miles, UC being far superior to Club (IMO), clubhouse...To name a few.
If I was date restricted and the BA fare was the only one available then sure I would, but I'd happily tailor my next getaway around whatever dates VS release for that price, if and when they do.

Are these prices via a search on BA's website or elsewhere as the prices I'm getting for my dates to Orlando in mid-August aren't particularly good?

I've run the same search through BA and ITA MAtrix and BA is showing £985 against £828 on ITA.

Never seem to have had much success with BA's website for these.
I use the itamatrix to find them, take note of the fare codes and flight numbers, and phone up their line.
Some have success with expedia...

Good compared to what though?
Not all destinations are included and there are date restrictions too and limited availability as well.

I've mentioned this before, but sometimes, ex-DUB in economy fares might not be great value compared to ex-DUB business class fares, during high season (Easter and July/August). BA does these sales for these periods in Club because people are on holidays and business is going empty....
Then again, I doubt I'd be seeing Hawaii in economy for 900 quid even at that...

I know there's people from both sides of the camp who use this site but given it's primarily populated by people who prefer to fly VS over BA, it's understandable that people would like to see VS match the price!

Thanks, Smid, for posting re the BA sale. I didn't find a good ex-Dub price but I have found one I'm happy with. LGW-Tampa direct with BA on 15th August, returning Orlando-Charlotte-LHRwith AA on 3rd September for £898. As the 3rd is the last Saturday before the kids go back to school, I'm happy with that. I've booked but have 24 hours to cancel if I want to but doubt I will. Not exceptionally good but I'm happy with it.

Sadly. with the smaller gatwick cabins to the likes of vegas, BA will be the only choice especially if more than 2 of you are going...
I love and miss the clubhouse. I've not had a bad flight on BA unlike a few on VS. That saddens me too...

Hi All,
Apologies as I feel rather stupid asking, how do you book the flights via Dublin to go to MIA or MCO? I tried entering multiple cites but the price I'm getting is £1600+ each. The dates were 15/07/16 - 05/08/2016 two adults, very flexible on dates. Any airport in Florida will do. LHR or LGW here.
If anyone could help it would be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Karen

Which search engine are you using to look for flights?

matrix.itasoftware.com
DUB
MCO,MIA
'calender of lowest fare'
15 th of July
10-14 days
2 adults
Business class
Currency: GBP
Spits out
769 AA/BA, but looks like that's the non lie flat DUB to JFK, then domestic first down to MIA or the likes.
If you tweak this to add advance routing codes to get the sporadic VS results, using:
ba lon vs
vs lon ba
You can see the Virgin results, of 966. Some of these are only like 10 days, I notice that july 23 is wide open. I see that you'll get that price to go via Miami. Personally, I prefer to overnight in london, so I tweak the departures tab on search results to leave late, click through and I've got.
13 nights, 23rd of July, Dublin to London 19:30 flight, onto Miami next day 1pm. Giving lashings of time in the clubhouse too...
I tweak the routing codes to do ba lon ba on both codes and I get 815 across the board the whole period. Depends if you want BA metal or AA metal. AA doesn't require paid reservations, and tends to have direct aisle access. Not sure if those are the coveted 77W planes which are much better than BA's club.

Thank you very much,
So...in the matrix, do I enter Lon-Dub-Lon-Mco or MIA - lon
Do I choose LHR or LGW, we live next to LHR.
Or..do I do it a different way, I did warn I was a bit daft.
Thanks,
Karen

@Seany which site are you looking at? I'm trying Kayak and Expedia for ex-DUB July/Aug period but not getting any VS fares returned (loads of BA and others though at that price point)

Ah, seeing them now on Expedia when I force it to show VS.. oddly none of them coming up on Kayak.
Ah well, all good

Sorry for delay, I was away in Scotland.
You do a return, and enter the details as shown. Don't do the multi city.
MCO goes from Gatwick. Miami goes from Heathrow. Heathrow clubhouse is better. But if you are flexible choose whatever route you want. But you need to start from Dublin. "positioning flights' need to be booked separately.
