New Year's Resolution...

For 2016, I'm going to ....... collect as many Flying Club miles as possible.
I think I've actually become obsessed. Hoping that since the EU have cut back on the credit card rates, they won't drop the amount that can be earned on the black cards.

I don't do resolutions but I have had the mile collection bug for a while.
I just converted my E Rewards points for 2000 miles which his my account only two days after converting when they said it may take 6-8 weeks.
I used my amex black for my car tax because they had a fixed £2.50 fee which worked out quite well.
It will be interesting to see how the new fee limits affect things. I always try to work out whether I'm better off using my card where there is a fee involved based on how much I would pay to buy miles on a miles booster.
I've booked my upcoming Gatwick hotel through Rocket Miles for 5000 miles.
Welcome to the club of obsessive collectors.

just don't get overly-obsessed collecting miles.
I have the opportunity to pay for a group holiday on my credit card.
This will be over £5k - would activate a E to PE upgrades & collect me 10,000 miles.
However, there is a 2.5% Amex surcharge fee.
is £125 worth 10,000 miles? Probably not (works out at 1.25p a mile)
However, factor in the upgrade tickets - then it is looking like a very good deal. Especially as I almost have enough miles to cover an E trip.

It's hard not to become a bit obsessed, I've been fortunate enough to cash them in a few times for UC flights, its a nice way to travel, and although I could (probably) afford to pay for the flights, I wouldn't as I could think of better ways to spend that money whilst on holiday.
