So, after trying to get shuttles, accommodation, and flights to work for a little break around Christmas / New Year I had given up.

The motto of this tale is "Never Give Up"

After a FaceTime call over the weekend from friends staying in the sunshine state, I got a call from my sister saying the very same friends had just posted on Facebook that yesterday, they had got married

Always one for a challenge, I got straight onto the iPad, made a quick call to VS to reserve a flight for 24 hours to allow me to do some more research this morning.

Long story short, confirmed this morning at 10am Manchester - Orlando, JFK - Heathrow in upper on points leaving tomorrow getting back Tuesday into Heathrow then up with BA to Edinburgh.

The Hilton GV on Idrive (or whatever it's called this week) helped with some Hilton points a flight with Delta up to JFK from Orlando for $300 and a Chevrolet Equinox from dollar for $175 finished the shopping this morning.

What could possibly go wrong

(Just got an email from VS saying the escape lounge is shut due to refurbishment and they will provide vouchers. So only a minor issue so far .....)

Now that is something

I usually wind them up by sending them a pic of a half empty glass of champagne from either the clubhouse or the plane but will send them a pic of a bottle of champagne and ask them to look out some glasses.

Wonder if they will suss it out
