G-VBIG at Cambridge airport

I live in Cambridge and drove past the airport today - BIG was saddled up to the hangar, presumably having left the fleet now. Any ideas what's being done to her there? I know CBG do maintenance for 747s so is she being re-leased instead of going to the desert?

Aahhhh! So is she being stored there? Wish I'd got a pic, was literally in touching distance of her on the public boundary fence!

Hi there
G-VBIG is been held there as its cheaper to store it in Cambridge, the plans are that it be released back into VS soon! its going to be refitted in the Leisure config and will join the other Virgin 747-400s at Gatwick up till 2018! so great news shame bout G-VFAB and G-VHOT.. as these will be scrapped. G-VWOW is in the USA as its going to be the carrier for the Galactic programme, Not sure about G-VROC. hope this helps
