Hi, first post here! Does anyone know anything about a reward seat sale? The last few years Virgin have launced a reward sale around the 8th January, but nothing yet this year. Need to book MIA-LHR for August, and just short of the miles needed, but would have enough if they launch a reward sale.

just checked back my emails - all I find is reward sales in Sept 2015, Sept 2014, Jan 2014 Sept 2013

Last year they were in January, May and September. There's no guarantee this year will be the same though.

If i booked a reward seat now and they launched a sale in a few days time (or probably a split second after i book) can i cancel and rebook at the reduced miles fare? Presume i'd have to pay the cancellation fee?

Yes you would have to pay the cancellation fee.

Bit of a pain as ive got a booking from the 8th August thats going to hit 6 months in a couple of weeks so was counting on a repeat of both the reward sale and boost sale.

Perhaps I'm imagining it or do they usually do these immediately after the sale ends ?
