V-Flyer

Hello everyone,

I know there is a thread on it already but I am desperate for an answer as I need to book it this weekend. I want to do an ex-eu trip but at the start it normally gives me the option of flying the first leg DUB-LHR the evening before, in this case it hasn't and wondered if anyone has any tips as I really don't want to be flying at 6 in the morning. Also how to get the return LHR-DUB not the day we land back in from America but the day after that. So 24 hours after we land back into the UK so the bags don't get tagged back to DUB. Any tips or tricks would be great!

Choose the multi-city option and you can specify the date and - usefully - the time of day of each leg.

If you're flying back into LHR, can you get to LCY for the DUB flight the next day as a different airport solves all bag issues.

I now tend to check a bag on the outbound, but for the return I try and go carry on only, mostly by throwing a way a few liquids that I don't need.

Are you using Expedia? If so, when the flights are in front of you use the left hand menu and for leg 1 request an evening departure. It sometimes works.

I am using expedia but I will use the site Gumshoe recommended and will come back to you tomorrow if it has worked.

Hello I've just quickly used that site gumshoe and it has come up with what I want regarding dates, times, prices etc. Only problem is all that came up was BA/IBERIA/AA but I would preferably like to fly with VS, do you know how to get it so the VS options show?

It would be a lot easier to help if you gave specific destination, dates and the earliest time of departure. Otherwise we're just giving you the same generic advice you can get from the exDub thread.

Very true, I'm looking at Lhr-Mia using Dublin as the starting point and ending point, departing Dublin on the 23rd of November to then position for the 13:00 VS to Miami on the 24th of November. Returning from Miami on the 28th of November and then having the Dublin flight on the 30th of a november if that make sense.

I'm assuming that the 24h in Lon is an attempt to get the bags tagged to Lon rather than a desire to actually spend 24h in the capital. On that basis you could book via Expedia.ie for 950 Euro:

Notice that the return leg arrives in LHR but departs from LGW. This will prevent any possibility of the baggage being checked through. You can arrive in LHR and just walk away.

Hello i've done that stuart_f and the return is perfect with the last leg from gatwick as this prevents baggage issues but is there any way to do the first leg DUB-LHR the day before the VS flight LHR-MIA if that makes sense.
