V-Flyer

Wow sitting here watching Fox News on my tv. Amazing pictures. That major snow storm has bought travel to a standstill. Even Florida had some snow flurries today.
Record snow falls in New York & Washington. Feel so sorry for anyone playing to travel over to or back from the east coast over next few days, so many flights cancelled.

I think the storm has all but passed now so the clear up begins.
I also think they are a lot better at it than over here and they will quickly be back to normal.
Mind you I wouldn't want the logistics of moving the panes around to get back on schedule.
My thoughts are with all those disrupted passengers and specially any V-flyers.

New York is lovely in the snow, but then it melts and becomes a wet sludgy mess, and snow ploughs speed down the roads, throwing it onto the sidewalk, all over anyone out for a walk.

My original flight out of JFK was scheduled last night but I ended up re-scheduling and flying out Friday night on VS 10 due to the blizzard. JFK CH was packed on Friday night and so was my flight since so many people decided to get out of there before the snow started hitting later on that night.

I'm flying to Newark tomorrow. I saw that some flights today have been cancelled too. I phoned Virgin this morning who told me that it may be some flights tomorrow may possibly impacted but I can only keep an eye out for status updates which is fair enough. It's hard though as today is packing and check in day. Everyone flying is equally affected of course.

On a separate and less important note can I ask the experts for some advice? I'm flying Premium Economy and currently have an aisle seat in the middle section. Currently there is an aisle seat with an empty window seat next to it in row 22 (main back row of the section). My ideal choice is always an aisle seat with an empty window seat next to it. I like looking outside but not being trapped in my seat. I'm trying to decide whether to stay where I'm assigned or move to 22H. I'm just thinking with the disruption that window seat is likely to get filled and I'll be next to the queue for the toilet if I move. I know it's trivial but if anyone can give advice that'd be fantastic.

Finally, is it worth trying to get paid access to the clubhouse given a lot of people are likely to fly tomorrow due to disruption? Thanks in advance.

I would work on the assumption there'll be no empty seats given there'll have been two days of major disruption. Remember many people wait until check-in to choose a seat.

As for paying for Clubhouse access - well you can try but I suspect it'll be a no as VS/DL flights are bound to be busy following the disruption stateside and space will be at a premium.

Thanks gumshoe. That's what I was thinking to be honest but it's good to get validation of your thoughts.

The chances are that the flight will have extra passenegers from canceeled or delayed flights and that the CH will be full, but if you don't try you will never know. They can only say "No" but they may say "Yes"!
