Seats, seats, seats!

Hi all long time lurker, first time poster. We are flying to and from JFK at the end of March and have paid a little extra and booked exit row seats (other half is 6'3).
We currently have seats 51 A & C on an A346 on the way out and seats 50 H & K on an A330 on the way back.
Further forward exit row seats are also still available for us to swap to in row 31 on the A346 and in row 40 on the A330.
Does anyone know if there are any advantages/disadvantages to both the rows we have booked and the ones also still available?
Are we better off to stick to the seats we have already booked? Seat guru not really giving much info.
First time long haul and to the US for both myself and my partner, so I really want to get this right.
Thanks!

I've always found Seat Guru pretty good. The only difference I can see between 31 and 51 is that 31 is over the wing.
Good if you are worried about ditching, not so good for a view. Both appear to be slightly narrower and both are near the toilets but that's where the extra legroom seats are. Me, I'd stick with row 51.

Exit row seats have pros and cons. Yes they offer unlimited legroom but they are also noticeably narrower than normal economy seats as the TV screen and tray table are stored in the armrests (which don't move as a result). Those of larger than average build may find them quite restrictive.
The A and K seats also have restricted legroom because of the casing containing the evacuation slide attached to the inside of the door. You can still stretch your legs out, but only at an angle.
Finally, being next to the doors, exit rows can get quite chilly and other passengers sometimes come and stand in front of you as the toilets are often nearby and it's one of the few areas in the cabin where there's a bit of room to stretch your legs.

Thank you both for your replies. Was aware the seats are slightly narrower but hoping we will be ok in them. Just wasn't sure whether one row might be better than another. Will stick with row 51

I know there is definitely no door/slide intrusion in row 31 on the A346 as I have sat in that seat. There was endless legroom but the window is behind you so no real view. I was on an overnight flight, so it was a great seat for me as I didn't need to look out!

The nearer the front you are, the nearer the front of the immigration queue you will be... I guess it all depends on how busy it is when you land...

Thanks for both your comments. Shame about the window, my partner not too keen on moving now he knows that. Not that he will see much apart from the Atlantic for most of the flight!
I think we will stick to row 51 and make a mad dash for immigration when we disembark.
