What is the best utilisation (value) for spending Virgin Airmiles.

Is it best to use on flights alone or package holidays?

I 'think' if they are used on Virgin holidays you exchange o many for £50 voucher, but again, are you limited as to how much in vouchers you can spend against their holidays?

I have approx 90K and the wife has approx 70K

Thank you in advance

I think the general opinion is use them for flights with VS - there's a thread here. The challenge is whether you can use them on the routes you want, but your balances would largely service a trip to NYC for example.

For me it is to upgrade from Economy to Upper.
We fly to the States once a year in February, and so far by booking early and choosing our dates we have managed to bag the elusive Upper reward seats in 14 seat cabin from Gatwick.

Agree with dickydotcom as to best use, we have also managed to get 2 upper reward seats on the MCO route in September by being a bit flexible and upgrading from economy. Just to note that you need to book through the flying club to do this.
