Hello, Im sorry if this is not allowed, feel free to delete or move this

Ive been looking at some posts and trip reports, thanks for posting them, very helpful

If I'm allowed, I wonder if anyone could help... we are on our 5th trip to florida to see the mouse, we are going upper class for the first time, as a family we don't like flying so I'm hoping this eases our pain, we are not being chauffered to the airport, I was wondering if anyone knows, do we still use the entrance that the chauffeur drops people (according to the video) if we are making our own way or do we use the normal entrance?

as I'm here asking questions, also would you say twilight check in is still good idea if flying upper class, presuming there would be less of a queue? we live 30 minutes from Gatwick so its not too difficult, but won't bother if its not needed?

Thankyou in advance if anyone can help, and if this works :)

Hi and welcome.

I can't answer the drop-off question I'm afraid but in terms of checking in, UC has its own dedicated bag drop desks and there's unlikely to be much of a queue, if any, on the morning so personally I wouldn't bother with Twilight.

As far as I'm aware, the drop off area at Gatwick (nothing like Heathrow FYI and the video you might have seen) is on the upper level and for authorised vehicles only. All it really gets rid of is 30 seconds in an elevator.

I bet your family soon change their mind about flying after experiencing UC :)

Hi and welcome from me too.

Given that there are only 14 seats in UC on the 747s, then there is unlikely to be a queue at the dedicated check-in desks unless there is a plane-load of Gold members on board which is highly unlikely.

Also, remember that at Twilight Check-in all travellers must be present. It's not a question of Dad nipping down to LGW to get rid of the cases. :D

Last year we had to wait almost 30 seconds at check in because there was someone in front of us.
Usually just walk up.
Enjoy your trip, and the Upper experience.
Have you heard the expression, 'Once you have turned left there's no going right?'

(T-293 hours till we take that trip too.)

Just to add to the above answers, the Upper Check in at Gatwick only takes a few moments then you will be on your way to the fabulous Clubhouse.

As far as I am aware, there is no Drive through check in at Gatwick, there used to be a few drop off spaces in one of the carparks but the video you saw was at Heathrow - it wont effect your experience at all.

Enjoy your flight (but as has been said, its a bit addictive :D )

Thank you Very Much, cleared that up for me, I'm pleased not to have to do twilight checkin, and at least i know what to do regarding the dropping off :)

Very excited to see UC, we only tried PE last august and it was so much better, i figured why not, then i got buyers remorse lol, but its a bucket list thing now, or at least thats how I'm justifying it hehe

im not too sure how these airmiles work, I'm collecting like crazy (petrol/tesco/virgin credit card, added to the miles i have and miles I'm getting from this flight, I'm hoping it won't be the last time

Thanks Guys!
