Hi Guys
At the minute I am busy collecting miles for our family trip next October .. I have enough in my account for 2 PE reward tickets and I have topped the kids up so that they have enough for an economy ticket each, which I am hoping to use my 2 upgrade vouchers from my VA card to get PE.
But its just occurred to me that I may not be able to use the upgrade vouchers with the kids accounts .. does anyone know if this is possible ? as I may need a new plan of action ..

I have recently booked two tickets from my account for two other people and then upgraded them to pe with vouchers. So you should be fine

Depends on the agent. You can use your upgrade vouchers for anyone you want if you are paying for the ticket with your miles, however if you are asking can you pay with miles from your children's account but upgrade with vouchers from your account that's a different matter. Technically it's not allowed but I recently got an agent to do it for me but she made it clear it was not policy and I would not be able to do it in the future.

I think the difficult part will be trying to use PE Upgrade vouchers are tied to your account, to use on another account.
I can see that enough of a reason it not being allowed. IE they are non transferable.
However, if you book all 4 seats at the same time together, you may get a helpful person who will accept to use them.

but that is upgrading tickets purchased with miles from your account.
OP wants to apply his vouchers to his kids account. Which may not be allowed.

For me, the big problem with this strategy is likely to be getting 4 PE rewards on two flights - especially (and I and guessing here, given that there are two children involved) if you are looking to book around the school half term holidays.

I may be missing something here but why not use your miles for the kid's tickets ( you can register to be the main 'administrator of miles across accts) and use the Vouchers for yours ?

I currently have 43000 in each of the kids accounts and 150000 in my account, I am the one who set up the boys accounts if that makes a difference as both kids are 13 yrs old.
We will be traveling either the last 2 weeks of September or the last week and first week of October due to OH fixed holidays and its 5 tickets we will need as OH has a little one too.
the reason I wanted to use the boys for the upgrades is as my VA card is linked to my account then I am accruing miles pretty well
our flights probably will not be realised for another 9 month or so .. so hoping for a fair few more miles yet
what do you think the best options would be ?

I certainly think it's worth trying to see if they'll let you use your vouchers on the children's account.
If not you could buy one premium return for you using both children's accounts (35,000 from each) and one premium and 2 economy (using the vouchers to upgrade) from your account, 120,000 miles.

I now have around 55000 in each of the kids accounts as I've just boosted the miles from our flights last year ... Think I might try converting my next batch of clubcard points to top the kids accounts up to the 70000 (so pinkies crossed for some good earning oppertunities
