Spending a few weeks in South Africa later this year and doing a few flights on SAA. Got me thinking... the benefits extended to VS FC Elites by Delta are well known, but do any of VS's other partners (and specifically SAA) offer any benefits to Silver/Gold FC members - like extra baggage allowances, lounge access etc?

It looks like there's only benefits for Gold, though. No mention of SAA specific benefits though but it looks like you can still earn miles with them.

Unfortunately not!! Other than being able to earn miles (and tier points if in business on SAA domestic flights) there are no benefits.

Hence why when I moved here I swapped to BA as comair offer full BA benefits!! This is the problem with VS not being part of a proper alliance network. I admit I was lucky that I had just gained VS lifetime gold but at this point I realized what benefits oneworld emerald membership has.
