Do Virgin Atlantic and Delta computers talk to each other?

I have a UC booking for MAN to RSW via ATL using both Virgin and Delta metal, the seats are booked on both companies systems but Delta have made a minor change and now I can't access my booking on the Virgin website. Web chat with Virgin tells me to contact Delta and ask them to reissue the tickets, which I did. Yesterday I received a phone call from KLM/Air France effectively saying it should not be necessary so I sent them the web chat transcript, I am awaiting a reply. I had the same problem on my last trip on this route, tried to check in the night before from the airport hotel only to discover I could not find my booking on the website, Panic! Phone call to Virgin was of little help, only asking us to check in at the airport but allow extra time. The extra time was the best part of 40 minutes before the problem was "solved" telling us to contact Delta on arrival at Atlanta to make sure it was. Called in at a Delta lounge and asked the receptionist to confirm the flight, after a few minutes she told us to get some food and drink as it may take some time. Finally we were issued with new boarding passes and headed off to the gate. Being in First we were some of the first to board, it came as no surprise to us that the computer rejected our boarding passes much to the annoyance of not only us but the passengers of a full plane trying to board. We still had the original boarding passes so we offered them, still no help but finally, I suspect, the operator overrode the system and we were allowed on board.
Anyone else had similar problems?

I had the same issue....booked tickets thru expedia...a combination of sectors both delta and VS and the tickets were issued on 932 (VS) stock. There was a minor change and the tickets apparently had to be reissued. I lost my access to seat plans ...we ended up with 5 sectors on the booking and both delta and VS denied responsibility...it took 5 calls and well over 3 hours to sort it out....I didn't want to leave it to chance so persevered until it was all done....it seems that the systems are not fully linked....

I have noticed that I still have an unused ATL to RSW sector from last November showing on the Virgin app, wonder if I can get a refund?

Just an update, over a month since my email to KLM/AirFrance and still no reply. Since then had conversations with Virgin and they told me they could not help me and to contact Delta, just sent another email to KLM/AirFrance to rattle the cage. Good job it is a few months before the flight. I can see my booking on the Delta site but can't see my Virgin UC seats, it says view them on the Virgin site. Before the Delta flight number change I had access to the booking on the Virgin site and I selected our seats, now I can't. Virgin insist Delta must re issue the tickets before they can give me access again, Delta/KLM/AirFrance say there is no need. Feel I need to escalate it if I still don't get an answer soon.

This an UC ticket, then I would phone virgin & ask their upper class team to sort it.
If necessary tell them to call delta & have a 3way conversation

On occasions, as long as enough bread was left out for the mouse that powers the wheel for the server / the carrier pigeons.

Delta, I had this problem last year when I booked with Virgin, thought I would try Delta after all the problems of last year on the same route. Seems they are both as bad.

Tried that and they told me to contact Delta, who I had booked with. I booked with Virgin last and it was only after I complained after the flight that they phoned me in the USA and told me they had sorted it with Delta. This time I thought I would book with Delta, you can't win.

If your booking is with Delta, it's them you must deal with and get them to sort it out, escalating if necessary.

This is standard airline practice - you deal with who you booked with not who you fly with. ( though within 24 hours of the flight the operating airline takes over the booking for their sector)
Calling VS about a DL booking even if it's a VS flight is a waste of everyones time.
BTW if people are wondering why the OP is also dealing with KLM/AF its because they handle DL customer service in Europe.
