V-Flyer

Looks like at least one other VFlyer has commented on this. I messaged VS saying it's not fair on the CC member to have this photo still up, they said they referred it to their PR department who've said it can't be taken down.

So there's still a photo of a CC member taken without their knowledge or permission, which I think is pretty unfair, especially in light of the original post indicating they were risking airplane safety.

Thoughts?

Perhaps VS have asked her, and she has agreed to let it be posted, because it does answer the question of why she was having a rest. If permission has not been given then of course it should be removed.

I have just posted a bit of a rant on that FB thread. No idea why the OP has posted that pic, perhaps they were upset that the crew were using a spare UC bed for a rest on a long overnight flight and not paying for it like he had done.

There is nothing illegal in the photo. It's even hard to see the CCs face.

The cabin is a public place and there can be no reasonable expectation of privacy in a public place.

If the photographer had moved closer and taken a photo of her sleeping showing her full face that would be a different matter.


That's probably why it took VS a while to respond - they probably wanted to check the legal position otherwise they would be criticised for 'censorship' if they just took it down.

The reality is that there is no crew rest on the A330 and the crew are obliged to have certain periods of rest depending on the length of flight. They therefore, have to take it on space available which may include UC seating.

The post is now lost in a sea of other posts from China.

I bet whoever posted would not post something positive if the UC was so quiet they offered the person 1 seat for sitting & made another for sleeping.

That's one of SRBs perks - a seat for sitting in and one for sleeping in.

I don't see the huge problem with the picture personally. You cannot see the crew members face in full, so it's very hard to identify her. Whilst the Upper Class cabin gives a certain amount of privacy, you cannot expect total privacy in an aircraft cabin.

As the crew member was doubtless taking her mandated rest break, surely it's better that they use empty UC seats on the A330 as it has no crew rest area? They will, in theory, get better rest and be more alert for when cabin service resumes & the safety critical phase of flight, i.e. landing.

I agree I can t see a problem with it not a lot of difference to that and someone travelling on airline staff ticket except cabin crew is in uniform.and I speak as someone who has benifited from airline staff travel
