Says it all really, BA reducing Baggage allowance in Club World and Openskies Biz Bed from 3X32kg to 2X32kg.
Extra vag will be £140 unless gold card holder who gets extra bag for free.

Knowing how VS closely follows BA with reduced "enhancements" will they go the same way?

Seriously though, who takes 3x 32kg? I'm packing for next weeks flight and will check two bags which will likely be 20kg and 28kg ish

Just seen AA have also introduced third bag cists and second bag cists for economy, but it's a bit confusing as theirs seems to have a weight limit if 23kg per bag if I'm reading it correctly....

Calling Jackie and DragonLady!

Lots of people make full use of the 3*32KG.

Sometimes it's not the weight you need but the volume. I came back from BOS last week with 3 bags - all below 23KG - but it was easier to have my things in 3 rather than two bags.

Once IB reduces their allowance too, I think VS will be the one of a very few airlines offering 3 bags in business class. (I don't know of any others but I'm sure they are out there)

Indeed :-D :-D :-D
When I was AU I even managed to make use of the extra bag making it 4 x32 kgs :-D
Very handy when bringing classic car parts back from sunny California :)

Like DragonLady, I have needed the extra 4th bag with Gold on an UC trip to / from LAS before now but on one trip, unluckily , I used LGW Twilight checkin so it took a lot of convincing for them to phone Crawley Towers to confirm they could allow me the extra bag with Gold.

Though would be fine for most trips to Carib, as I usually only have 2 bags (with the second being snorkel/flippers etc & a bit of extra evening wear as they often insist on shirt & long trousers for dinner at the hotels), it's nice to have the 'spare' bag or two available in case of mad amounts of souvenir shopping.

Of course we all look forward to our CW flights now being £140 cheaper as when VS price match we'll save money :-)

Well done to those that do use the full allowance. I will fill two cases for Monday's flight. I probably could fill ore but would worry about managing any more cases where maybe a trolley is not avaialble!

We have just done a 10 night cruise followed by 2 nights in Hong Kong and needed the luggage allowance. We only took 2 bags each but they did weigh 26kg so would have struggled if we had been on a longer cruise, but we like the opportunity of having up to 32kg so as not to worry about taking scales etc. For Longer cruises, we would need a higher luggage allowance!

We also make use of the 3 bags on the way home , last time we flew home UC we had 5 bags. I'm sure the other half is trying to beat this record in July :-D

A lot of professional photographers will take that much equipment as hand baggage. They can keep tabs on it and it's not going to get crushed in the hold.

With Canon charging around £8-12K for some lenses, it makes great sense.

I doubt if I packed every item of clothing I own I could fill two, let alone three, 32 Kg cases. My policy is if I have not worn it in the last year it goes in the bin! apart from my DJ which rarely gets an outing these days .

We are taking 2 carry-on cases, 2 small backpacks and 2 medium cases (est weight 18 Kg each) on our next flight. The limitation is that it all has to fit in the boot of the car at the other end.

We are renting a Chevrolet Malibu (or similar). I doubt bigger cases would fit. But if anyone knows otherwise let me know! Extra space for the return is always handy ;-)

We pack for every eventuality of weather in South Carolina for a month, but inevitably about a quarter of the clothes taken don't get worn.
Laptop, tablet and cameras go in my carry on but the rest fits in four cases.
2x 20kg and 2x 25kg.

I really can' believe how much luggage some of you guys carry. Over Christmas and New Year I did 26 days travelling the length of Vietnam with 1 case and a 25 kg luggage allowance. I didn't wear all the clothes I took, managed well on what I had doing washing along the way and was 1kg lighter on the return leg to LHR. Rule number one, only pack what you can carry.......cos when it all goes wrong (not if but when) you have to be able to pick it up and carry it......

The four cases you see in my post above were carried up the stairs at MCO after customs to get on the elevated train.
Mrs D broke her wrists last year and wasn't going to be able to manage cases on the escalator. I worked out before hand I could keep them in sight if I carried two half way up then went back and took two all the way up and then went back for the other two.
But you are right, that's why we don't take three each.
