Managed to blag UC :) :) to Barbados in a A330 and back from NY in a A340 in September - special birthday treat for the wife! Enjoyed reading through all the posts but specifically - any suggestions for the best seats? I need to earn those brownie points! And any other UC do's and dont's?

on 333, avoid the middle seats as they're shorter and lack overhead lockers and air vents, personally i'd aim for the front two seats in A or K

on the 346, i'd go for the first seats in K as they are more private (facing the rear of the middle row) and furthest from the bar etc., but much more choice of 'good' seats than the 333

otherwise, get to CH early as you can to enjoy it as much as possible!

On the A330 (we're also off to BGI, but in May) we have sat in 4/5/6/7A and they have been fine. I would recommend anything in A or K up to 7, although I haven't sat in 1 or 2 which are closest to the galley. Scheduled to sit in 3A on the way back from BGI in May so will let you know what it is like.

Have flown many times to the Caribbean on A333. The A side is our favourite and we prefer to be 7A, 8A on the outward - as you are quick off the plane and through immigration.

As others have said, don't take the middle seats as they are about 4 inches short than A or K rows. Personally I would always prefer seats behind one another than opposite on most UC routes as you can chat over the 'wall'.

The lounge at BGI isn't brilliant, but actually I do like it and it serves the best Rostis you could ever find in an airport.

As for anything else, just enjoy it!
