Perseverance paid off!

I booked UC to Las Vegas using just miles for my wife and I back in July last year (we're flying 5th June) but could only get PE on the way back.

Well 9 months of obsessive checking several times every day has finally paid off and last night 2 UC flights popped up that were available using just miles so I was straight on the phone and upgraded the PE to UC for the return journey - couldn't believe my luck :D

We're both so excited it's ridiculous!

Anyway, just thought I'd post this to prove that perseverance sometimes pays off and good things come to those that wait!

congrats, I was checking for our vegas return in June but nothing still and a dummy booking looks like its sold out anyway now. Oh well think we'll save our miles for Hong kong next year.

Great news !

I am looking daily (sometimes twice) for UC for early 2017 to Jo'burg but UC seats on or near my preferred dates are like hens' teeth. Am thinking of booking miles reward PE out and the only UC in Feb showing at the moment on the return, in the hope that we can upgrade the PE out to UC at some point. Annoying thing is , we would be quite happy with UC out andPE back (i.e. the other way around to what is on offer) ...... but going out PE and missing the Clubhouse would seriously compromise our enjoyment I have to say. If we are having to fly down from MAN (and now fly to CPT from Jo/burg - thanks VS for cancelling the LHR to CPT route ! ) then I really want a few hours in the CH to make the 3 flight trip more fun .

Well done.
I'm currently in a position where we have next years outbound and I'm checking for the return.
I'm praying for uppers to be released at T-335

The only downside is that we're going from Manchester so we don't get to experience the club house - but it's a lot easier to get to and from for us that trekking down to London.

Good luck to everyone else searching for their upgrades...just keep at it and you never know!

I love it when a plan comes together, even if it takes a while. Well done. It will make the trip so enjoyable knowing you've bagged a G.

It was already a special trip as we'll be celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary whilst in Las Vegas - staying 11 nights in a 1 bedroom fountain view room at the Cosmo - this is just the icing on the cake :D
