Customer relations in flight bonus

So the other half flew to SFO at the weekend on a work trip in UC. Spoke with him last night and he said that he was due 10K miles as they did not have his choice of starter....
He wasn't even bothered and didn't kick up a fuss. The CC member offered him 3K miles and he thanked them and said it was fine and that he was really impressed with the service he had received and he wasn't fussed about not getting his choice of starter.
By the end of the flight, she gave him an envelope which said they would credit him 10K miles! Wow...so that's what you get when you don't complain and actually do the opposite
