Avidly reading all the trip reports & I can work out most of the abbreviations but DTCI is doing my head in! Something something check-in?
Also, what do people mean when they talk about 'Au's'?
Thanks in advance from a dinlow ...

Hi and welcome!

DTCI = Drive Through Check-In - the service at Heathrow where Upper Class passengers can be driven right up outside an exclusive check in area adjacent to the private security channel. Definitely worth doing if just for the show-off factor!!

Au = the chemical symbol for Gold, so it means a Gold Flying Club member. Likewise Ag = Silver.

D'oh! Thank you. We're flying from LGW so no showing off for me. Booked stretch limo at LAS though - gotta be done just for the 'cheese' factor. Hee hee. Haven't told the old man, he can just quietly die of embarrassment when we get there.

The site was revamped about a year or so ago - prior to that, abbreviations like the above used to be highlighted and you could hover your mouse over to find out what they were! Not sure what happened to that!

Yes Slimpy, it would be helpful if that facility still existed. There have been a few occasions when I'd like to skip to a 'dictionary' to look things up.
P.s. Sorry to hear about your watch.
