Fare Class Question

Hi,

Travel Virgin quite frequently however most the time I am either fully flex UC (J) when on business or discounted (Z). I was wondering what the D,C & I codes are reserved. Since it has a 250-300% FC Gold bonus I was wondering if it is a more discounted fare than J which could earn more miles :D

Thanks

D, C and I fares all all semi flexible UC fares, each have slightly different rules regarding changes etc. D & C fares earn 300% miles like a J fare and I earns 150% like a Z fare.

Gathered as much, but how are these billable - surely they are a bit cheaper than a J fare!

Cheaper, yes, but becoming more restricted as you go down through each fare class.

billable as in buyable?

You would have to phone VS and ask for a specific bucket - once you know the difference in the fare rules behind each of the fare buckets.

They are a bit cheaper than a full J fare but cheapness is relative. You would really only need to be in one of the flexible buckets if you were unsure of your plans and they needed to change.

You can tell on the VS website that all the cheap Zs have gone because in the 'cheapest' column it will say something like 'chauffeur car included'.
