V-Flyer

Can anyone be so kind and give me a load check for VS075 MAN-MCO on Tues 21st June... Hoping for a cheap upgrade to PE.

Play your cards right and that upgrade could be free - Economy looks oversold to me.

That would explain the nice courtesy call from Virgin offering an upgrade to PE for £209pp. Think i'll be holding out to the airport. We paid £159pp last time. Free upgrade would be fab......what's the chances of that?

Hard to say. As you've already found, the first thing they'll do is try to sell upgrades in advance. Then they'll try selling them at the airport. If that frees up enough seats in Economy they'll have no need to start doing "op-ups" - free upgrades - but if the flight's still overbooked they may well give priority to Gold & Silver Flying Club members before everyone else.

Finally, and it's rare it gets to this stage, if they've filled PE & UC and they're STILL overbooked in Economy they'll offer incentives for volunteers willing to be bumped to another flight and as a last resort people would be bumped off the flight whether they like it or not (which would make them eligible for compensation under EC261/2004).

So I won't get too excited .... the prospect is slim to remote!! I'm sure I'll survive on an extra leg room seat... Will wait for another call offering an upgrade. Wouldn't mind being bumped to the afternoon flight if they offered a free upgrade...only staying at the airport for the night before driving to Naples on Wednesday. Thanks for your expert knowledge.

I'm sure that other people would have taken that offer.

£209 is a cheap upgrade. What you paud in the past is neither her nor there.

Unless you are FC AU or on a full Y fare then expect to be sat in Y. VS have an order that they upgrade people in.
