Flying with my dog

Hi all.

Am hoping there is someone who can help me here. I live in NYC and plan on being in the UK for 6 weeks starting this December and I'd like to take my dog.

Would anyone know whether the process is painless and straightforward, or whether there are any companies that would take care of it for me? (NYC end only). I'd collect her at LHR. She is not qualified to travel in the cabin, only on domestic flights so would need to be in the hold.

I know she can travel on the VS45/46/111/112 but am specifically looking to have the time alleviated from my schedule.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

I've no experience with this, however, there is a whole section on the VS website here about flying with pets which may be helpful.

Yup, already researched that. Looking for courier advice, if any such services exist and especially if someone could recommend something.

I'll be bringing a dog from UK to Scandinavia and after extensive research I've settled on using this company.

Have you checked ou the UK Government requirements for bringing pets in to the UK?

You'll also need to consider issues such as many hotels do not permit pets and those that do charge extra for them.

Obviously you know your dog better than anyone but is he/she up to being caged for several hours and then be in a strange environment?
