V-Flyer

Hi all,

Been a while since I've taken a flight with VS, but I've got a fair amount of miles burning a hole in my account from my Amex so want to make use of them! I also have 2 PE Upgrades so want to find out the best way to use them. Two questions:

1. Do you have to use the voucher on a revenue economy fare or can it be alongside a reward fare.
2. Should I be in the lucky position to find all classes available (Gs right down to Economy), can I hop through each class and ultimately just spend miles on a PE to UC upgrade using the PE upgrade voucher?

1. The voucher can only be used in conjunction with an Economy reward redemption, not a revenue fare.

2. There is no way of upgrading to UC when using the voucher. It's strictly Economy to PE, and you can't then use additional miles to upgrade to UC.

Just to add to this, you also can't use cash to upgrade the PE fare to UC. Once you've used the voucher to get you from Y to PE then you cannot go any higher on that ticket.

If you're happy to fly PE, then they really do work out excellent value, especially if you are able to use them when a reward sale is on. Remember there only needs to be PE reward seats on your dates to use the voucher.
