In-flight meal timing etc.

Hi,
I'll be flying from Gatwick to Orlando in UC in a few weeks with my wife and toddler.
Would like to plan it that she is sleeping at the time of meal service if at all possible. Approx how long into the flight does this happen. Thought we could covert one of our seats into the bed, hopefully encourage things. Then when the meal happens the two adults could sit at of the tables, one using the footstool as a seat....
The other thing for this to happen, would be for the crew to hold my daughter's kid meal until she wakens?
Is this do-able?
Thanks

Meal service is normally about an hour - 90 mins into the flight?

Make sure you ask the crew at the start of the flight to help hold your daughters meal as all the hot entrees are pre loaded in the ovens and cooked together once the first drinks service is finished. Won't be a problem to cool for it for you later on

That's do-able, but, from experience, toddlers don't always sleep when you want them to. When son was at that stage, he found the whole thing too exciting to sleep. He didn't cause any trouble either, just sat up wide eyed for the whole flight! A more controllable option to consider is to ask the cabin crew to serve you and your wife's meals at different times, so that each of you can enjoy a proper meal in peace while the little one is being entertained by the non eating parent. If she then does sleep, by all means sit together at one seat on the ottoman and chat and the crew will bring the second meal as soon as they can.
Just a thought, but your idea will work if your daughter is the sort to sleep no matter what.
Have fun

Thank you Edna Cloud. I think this is exactly what I'll do! I hadn't even considered that!
Great idea!
