I'm flying UC tomorrow (Tue 9 Aug) from LHR and just got this text from VS. I wonder what's up, and how much voucherdom I'll get :-)

"We''re sorry to advise that due to unforeseen operational issues, we will be unable to offer a full meal service in the London Heathrow Clubhouse for your upcoming flight with us. You will be provided with a refreshment voucher on arrival so alternative hot food can be purchased in the terminal."

I have also received this text. I'm on an Upper Class flight on Thursday so it's concerning that whatever problem they seem to be having now with the Clubhouse, will still be a problem on Thursday afternoon.

Can anyone shed any light on what has happened?

I too got the basic of all basic emails from VA, I have called to discuss as it really does not give much if any information.

there is still hot food such as Soups, Burgers, fish and chips, curry etc etc and the deli will be open as normal too. they hope to have it fixed before my trip on thursday.

you get a £10 voucher for hot food on top of what you are allowed to have in the clubhouse, problem is you have to queue with all the poor people in the main terminal which I avoid.

Interesting that only some hot food items are excluded in that case. Sounds like a major kitchen malfunction either way! Fingers crossed it'll be resolved by the 25th for my next visit.

I suspect the DL computers are also now controlling the clubhouse cookers.

First world problems ha ha. As long as the Lanson remains chilled it would be fine with me.

Something to do with the catering staff not have the right security passes...??? So i am sat here with a glass of bubbles, and the option of the Deli counter, OR sausage or bacon roll with either fried or scrambled egg. It certainly a first world problem, BUT its also pretty silly.

Could well be. In this thread viewtopic.php?f=4&t=293610 @silverfox reports a similar problem at the United lounge in T2, apparently caused by Sodexo catering staff having their security passes revoked. I have a feeling Sodexo also cater the Clubhouse. So putting two and two together, that may well be the reason.

Heathrow have just suspended another 300 security passes, mostly catering staff and cleaners.

Ouch! That's going to cause lots of problems then.

That sounds like a systemic problem with the clearance system that could take some time to sort out.
