Virgin cancels Shanghai flight, again

2 years ago Virgin cancelled my flight to Shanghai 3 months ahead of the departure date and put me on a flight a day earlier. I'm using them again to go to Shanghai and they've just done the same. Is this normal behaviour of virgin on this route or am I just unlucky? Really annoying! I've been flying every other month for the past 6 years and no other airline has ever cancelled my flight for operational reasons!

A lot of flights on all routes with low loads in the winter schedule are being cancelled.

US airlines are notorious for chopping and changing schedules. As frustrating as it is, it just isn't viable to fly near-empty planes half way round the world.

I've never experienced Virgin cancel or even delay the VS250 whenever I've flown. The only thing a bit errant was chopping around with departure times though that was months in advance.
