Airbus A330-300 reconfiguration

Hello

I've been lucky enough to have a sneak peek of the new A330 Upper Class configurations.

As many of you already guessed, it will be in a 1-1-1 configuration with seating being:

A G K
1 1 1
2 2 2
3 3 3
4 4 4
5 5 5
6 6 6
7 7 7
8 8 8
9 9 9
10 10 10
11

Total of 31 suites as per the Boeing 787-9.

Happily, there is definitely a bar onboard too (as many a rumour was fearing the opposite). It's unlike any other VS bar in that the 3 stools face rearward and the crew area for the bar faces forward - and takes the place of the current closet at Galley 2. This means that the bar stools (and occupants) are further away from the suites.

The suites themselves are UCS3, exactly the same as on the Boeing 787-9.

Sounds like excellent news to me as long as this proves to be accurate

Thanks for the intel! Sounds like good news.

Do you know which way the middle row seats face? I used to spend a lot of time on the A346 kangaroo route and loved sitting in A10 with a wall in front of me, rather than someones feet!

...we are flying LGW - ANU in January...hoping that we will have the new configuration. Anyone know if this is likely?

All A seats will face the wall, as on the Dreamliner. G and K seats will face each other.

Have a look at your seat map on Manage My Booking. That should indicate whether you'll have the old or new config. And keep checking regularly in case it changes - VS won't tell you and may move you without notice.

Do you know when they are due to be rolling this out? When it came through the rumour mill I heard October onwards - I'm flying A330 2nd week of Nov so I don't think that I will see the changes on that trip, but one can live in hope!

As above, check your seatmap on MMB. You'll be able to tell from that.

My seat map for March still shows 2 seats in the centre.

The two LGW 330s will be reconfigured last so not until end of next year

Same here for early nov, D & G are there although there only seem to be a few seats taken in D on both legs - will be interesting to see if that all gets blocked off.

Shame LGW aircraft will be last.
Flying LGW-ANU in May and was expecting a refurbished cabin.

Good afternoon All

If the LGW A330s are not being reconfigured until the end of 2017, why does the seat map for my LGW-ANU flight in May already show the new 1-1-1 configuration?

As a single traveller my preferred seat it 6K, but thanks to the advice here I have changed to 6A as the 'A' seats will be more private.

Will the seat map revert back to 1-2-1 nearer to departure as at the moment the 'D' seats are blocked?

Apologies if the answer to my question is obvious, but I am still confused, so appreciate being enlightened.

Is their an estimated time frame on when the LHR A330 re-furbs are set to be completed by? i'm flying to Dubai in Feb and was originally scheduled to be on the new Dreamliner. However Virgin recently reverted back to the A330, disappointingly!

By the start of the Summer 17 timetable I thought but I am willing to be corrected.
