I did a Grey Line one about 5 years ago.
Was 'ok' but it was really a push by the wineries to sell rather than taste. As soon as they found out I was from the UK and not buying they were't that interested. And then of course everyone had to wait until those that were buying had their money and orders taken

Hi, back in 2010 we did the Napa & Sonoma valley Wine Tour with a company called Incredible Adventures which was a very enjoyable and interesting day trip.
In 2015 also did the Muir Woods tour with Extranomical Tours. They were brilliant and have the Trip Advisor 'excellence award for 2016'. This was a wonderful trip. We are also booked with them to do a trip to Yosemite next year.
Neither of these tour companies used big coaches for of trips and we was in a small group of about 10.
Check these companies out on Trip Advisor and you'll get lots of reviews too.

Thanks for the info. Have checked out Extranomical Tours & it has everything we need for the few days we are in SF before hiring a car to travel down Highway 1.
