What's with the click.linksynergy.com URL? A quick Google shows that site is adware and spam infested and is not a place you want to visit.

I believe it only happens on VS links and therefore assuming it's to track traffic from VF to the VS website for commission purposes.

You won't have an issue. Instead of clicking on it, highlight it with your cursor and you'll see it's not a direct link to the VS site.
