Wave from JFK

Unfortunately the time has come to return home. :-(

The taxi (car service ordered from hotel) from Manhattan to JFK took an hour and 45 mins due to traffic and a driver who didn't seem interested in finding a quicker route than the probably only route he knows.

UC check in was a lot quicker than the chaos the EC and PE desks looked. Even the Delta Sky Priority line looked quite long. Finally made it to the calm of the Clubhouse for a delicious dinner of chicken tikka masala followed by pecan tart that has just arrived while typing this. :D

Still here. Flight has been delayed for an hour due to late arrival of VS009. Strange seeing as it pushed back at LHR 3 mins early. Must be strong headwinds that will probably benefit us as tailwinds. At least it gave me time for a Manhattan.

Looks like you are now on your final approach. Hope you enjoyed the flight and the JFK Clubhouse! Last time I was there the flatbreads were back on the menu which made me a very happy chappy.

The flight was nearly two hours late taking off due to the incoming flight taking an hour to get a stand after landing. There was an additional delay after one of the baggage handlers was injured while loading and they had to wait for medical assistance to treat him and take him away. The tailwinds did help us though as the flight was only 6 hours, which I mostly spent sleeping after having eaten in the Clubhouse.

Before we boarded, I could see the cargo (Lady Bird) being unloaded from the incoming flight, and they were removing an Aston Martin covered in plastic wrap.
