Obligatory Wave from LHR Clubhouse + OpUp!

Just arrived at the LHR Clubhouse with a glass of Lanson in hand. Reasonably busy; the transition from Breakfast to mid-day food is occurring. Construction isn't a big issue besides the rather large area boarded off, blocking off my two favorite areas.

Also got the elusive op-up from PE to UC. Flight in PE was overbooked with UC 9+ open and plenty of Gs. I was prepared to use miles for the upgrade but figured I was worthwhile to inquire about the op-up since PE appeared full!

Well done on the op-up

I take it you're AU because op-ups aren't supposed to get CH access - usually written on the BP!

Well done on the Op-Up, my first ever UC experience was many years ago when upgraded from PE to UC at the gate as boarding VS flight from Hong Kong to Heathrow.

Thanks for all the well-wishes!

Yes, I am AU, so I got to the airport early for the purpose of enjoying the lounge (and, as an unintended benefit, to get an OpUp).

Even if they wrote NO CH ACCESS on my boarding pass, I would have just proceeded to a checkin kiosk or used my phone to get get a 'fresh' boarding pass that wasn't tainted with those letters ;)

So you would have got in via your status anyway.

It would be clear to the lounge guardians from their system that you were on an op up and they would have politely refused you entrance even if you had shown them a 'clean' mobile pass.
