Upper Reward and Lap Infant

Hi All,

I have found 2 Gs return LHR - LAX in March, 200k miles + £1127 for 2 adults. Thats the good news.

The bad news is that I have also been quoted £479 to add a lap infant to the booking. Does this seem excessive?
My understanding of a lap infant fare was something like 10% of adult base fare plus taxes. Upper return for our dates for 1 adult currently looking at about £2000, so I can't figure out where £479 is coming from.

Thanks!

As reported here on the excellent site "Head For Points" the rules have recently changed with regards to infant rewards on VS.

Ah ok, thanks for the link and info. I thought it was the old system until Jan 16th.

Lowest cash fare for my dates is £2,127.57 (fare: £1,560.00, surcharges: £329.00, taxes: £238.57).

So i guess that means the infant fare should be £156 plus taxes/charges. To make it to £479 that makes the taxes and charges element to be about £323! ouch!
