LGW Clubhouse with child

Hi all, only recently found this great forum, and love it.

Have flown Virgin only once, on our trip to Vegas about six years ago. Economy out, but paid to upgrade to PE on the return, and we were sat at the front row in the bubble. Loved them seats.

Anyway, down to my question. We are booked from LGW to Orlando November 2017, and have gone for UC both ways. Booked through Virgin Holidays, as that gave us the option to pay over some time, whereas VA want the flight cost on booking, unless I am missing something.

I originally booked to fly from Manchester, then realised it had no clubhouse, so called up the next day to go from Gatwick, as Hathrow didn't do direct flights.

I am not sure where, but I am sure someone on here said that clubhouse access is for over 12's only, and our daughter will be 4 1/2 then. Can anyone confirm if this is true? Really gutted if so, as the clubhouse is a major part of wanting to go UC for the outward journey.

Thanks in advance.

Don't worry, that's definitely not true. I have been in the (old) LGW clubhouse with a six week old!

The no children <12 restriction applies only, on my reading, to those buying access from Virgin Holidays.

As your 41/2 year old is a UC passenger with her own seat then she does have access.

There is even a very small kids' area in the Clubhouse, rather optimistically described as "woodland themed" (ie green carpet and some tree effects).

You can sort of see it here (apologies if the pic is the wrong way round, works fine on an iPad or iPhone).

Thanks all, that's set my mind at rest. Carnt wait for the UC all round experience, guess we'll never want to go back.

Off course we are looking forward to Disney too.
