Ha ha ha. Let me guess, total ticket price was £1386.61? Sounds like an excellent deal to me :-P

The VS mileage redemption system isn't very complicated is it, there's a clear pattern equating 3000 miles to an £18 redemption value and it increases in stages until the left hand column runs out of miles to take from your account or the right hand column gets to the ticket price.

How much does it cost to buy 3000 miles these days?

£15 per transaction plus £15 per 1000
so if you just wanted to buy 3000 it would only be £60

I recently just snuck in before the personal credit card deadline and payed HMRC £3000 on my Visa black which cost me £12 for 3000 miles. which I thought was cheap.
