I am trying to work out if I can use my UK netflix account on my mac while in Barbados.
It looks like I may be able to use my UK account but will receive US content?
Alternatively, if this doesn't work is it possible to sign up short term a new account in Barbados

My guess is yes you can use it.
I signed up to Nextflix a few years ago specifically to use it on holiday in the US
It works fine. I use an HDMI cable connected to my laptop and view it on the main TV in the apartment.

I have used my Netflix account in the US but the content is slightly different to the UK one - sometimes different release dates or content restricted for rights reasons.

I used it without issue last year. But, as mentioned, the content appeared to be what you would get in the US.

Yes, you will be able to use it, but the content will be whatever the local market gets.
UK usually has better options on programmes that are currently being broadcast on the network in the US, US version has lots of older series like Family Guy etc.
Using a VPN will stop Netflix from working.

You can use Netflix, but it will want you to use the local system based on your IP address.
However a VPN will not stop the system from working. It will enable you to use UK Netflix and iplayer, etc, as if you were in the UK. I use NordVPN to watch UK TV wherever I am in the world. There are many other ones just as good.

On a similar note, does anyone have any experience of using an Amazon Fire Stick outside the UK? Specifically I'm looking to use it to access UK TV content when abroad. Don't mind jail-breaking / installing VPN etc, but does it work?
