Virgin Chauffeur \ Tristar payment

Hi,

I made 2 separate chauffeur car bookings the other day through “manage my booking” on the Virgin website and received confirmation e-mails for both bookings.

As of yet no payment has been taken, it’s now 5 days since I made the bookings. Does anybody know when they process the payments for advance bookings?

Never used the company before so don't know what the procedure normally is. Just wanted to check if this was normal or whether it's worth giving them a ring?

Many thanks,

Steve.

I use Tristar (now part of Addison Lee BTW) as a matter of routine these days when flying with VS. As I fund all my own travel, I do not get the benefit of VS provided transfers these days!!

My Credit Card is charged after the event (usually a few days after taking the journey) so I imagine that booking through VS will be the same.

I suppose the premise is if you charge beforehand then cancel it is more paperwork for Tristar and of course there is the charge for parking which will be added when beoing picked up at the Airport.

Buns,

Thank you, surprised about the charge for parking though. It was kind of implied that it was an all in price when I booked it, no mention on the Virgin website about additional charges for parking.

The Virgin website just says:

The longest a chauffeur will normally be able to wait for you is 30 minutes beyond the agreed pick up time. If you call us and want the chauffeur to wait for more than 30 minutes we'll try our best to but it may not always be possible. Please call our Upper Class team on +44 (0)344 412 4666.

If you don't let us know within 30 minutes of the agreed pick up time, we'll have to assume that you no longer need your car and will advise the chauffeur that their services are no longer required.

That was why I wondered in a previous post about adding additional time on. This booking was made directly through Virgin, maybe the terms are slightly different than if you booked through Tristar themselves. Guess i'll find out in a few weeks time.

Thanks,

Steve.
