News announcement on the VS Homepage confirming a previously mentioned terminal move:

From 29 March 2018 all Virgin Atlantic customers travelling out of Miami International airport will need to arrive at Concourse H, between doors 24 and 25. You'll find our desks on Level 2 of Concourse H, South Terminal.

Upper Class and Gold card customers will be able to use the Delta Sky Club lounge just after security, at Concourse H.

A very welcome (long overdue) move

Looks a pretty reasonable DL Sky Club lounge. One review with photos of the Delta Sky Club at MIA can be found here.

It looks way better than the current poor excuse of a lounge at MIA.

It also looks like concourse H also has a proper TSA-Pre lane as well

Whilst anything is better than the dire E Concourse and Lounge, I would wish to strike a note of caution.

Recently, mrs Buns and myself connected via Miami to get to Orlando. Once doing the yomp across to the H Terminal, we found the Delta Lounge (which is accessed by a lift from the Terminal main floor), we entered the Lounge in the early evening.

The place was crowded with many passengers taking European flights, so be prepared for an experience akin to the Delta Sky Club in Atlanta.

Bummer! Flying back from MIA on the 27th.

I wonder if the departure gate area (for us ordinary mortals!) will be any better than the ghastly one VS use at the moment?

We usually need to book assistance to get from check in to departure. Is the new lounge close to check in? The description makes sound as though it is and if that's the case we won't bother asking for help as we can manage short distances ok. Thanks.

Based on my recollection in February, where we checked in with Delta, I would recommend requesting assistance.

The TSA lines did not have a priority queue and whilst the Delta Club is a short distance from the screening area, it is accessed by lift and getting form the Club to the Gate, could be a distance.

Thanks for the information re assistance. In view of that I think we shall leave in place the arrangements we had already requested an use assistance, particularly to the gate.

So I arrived into MIA yesterday, it has been a year since I have been here, and it has all changed! I don't know if this is something new or not, but it's definitely a different looking immigration hall, still terminal E.

Half the length walk from the plane than what I'm used to, completely deserted immigration hall, I was literally the only person in it because I walked fast and was first off the aircraft. No other flights at all

Didn't have to use an ESTA machine or anything, they just sent me straight to the desk and he had a quick look and stamped me through. Then into a rather small room with just 3 baggage belts, but I only had hand luggage, so was straight out. Aircraft to Taxi in literally under 10 minutes, a most welcome and unexpected experience!

Ah - that explains it.

When I went in February - never having arrived there on an international flight before - I did wonder why so many V-Flyers complain about the long walk to immigration: it’s certainly no further than many of the more distant gates at LHR T3 or LGW and there are moving walkways for much of the way.

I have Global Entry so immigration was a breeze despite us arriving just behind the BA flight and the baggage hall, despite being small and having all the aesthetic charm of a prison, was efficient.
