G Fare & Lay Over

I'm wanting to go to Orlando and I've found a G Fare but it's to Miami. The Fare however has an overnight stop over at MCO. Can I grab my bags at MCO and not bother taking the internal to Miami which would be much better for me?

If this is a return trip and you miss the MCO-MIA leg then the rest of the flights on the ticket will be cancelled.
You will have to collect your bags at MCO anyway to clear US customs.

Yes, if your return journey to the UK is on the same ticket you can’t miss one of the outbound legs.
If, however, your outbound and return journeys are on separate tickets (perfectly possible with Gs) then you shouldn’t have a problem.

I was going to do 2 separate bookings as I can get back from Miami PE on a separate booking so gather I should be ok.
