Cabin upgrade or Reward Seat ?

Hi all

Have a couple of questions which i hope someone will be able to answer.

Myself, Mrs A and our offspring are heading to JFK later in the year.

Between us we have enough airmiles to upgrade from Economy to UC or we could purchase sufficient miles to enable us all to travel UC via Reward seating.

Is it easier to upgrade or is it easier to grab Reward seats ?

Also, if all the miles are transferred to my account, can they then be used to either (1) purchase rewards seats for all 4 of us, or (2) can I use them to receive 4 cabin upgrades ?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated :)

It is no difference. You need a reward seat to upgrade to.
You also need an upgradeable ticket which last time I did it was much the same price as the cheapest PE
It is a simple question of doing the sums to work out which is cheaper.

upgrades from economy will become slightly easier as economy classic seats now are upgradeable, you need to do the maths and see what works out cheaper.
