Weekend reward flights to HKG

Are there ever any Gs released for weekend HKG flights? I have secured seats for a Friday, but the Saturday, or even possibly the Sunday, would work so much better for us.

I can't speak for HKG but it seems to me there are no definite rules about the release of reward seats. They appear and disappear in the blink of an eye.
When booking for a flight to Atlanta next year there were no Friday flights on any week so I assumed there would not be any and booked a Saturday flight. By the time our return date was open, suddenly there were reward flights for the outbound on the Friday so for £30 each we made the change.
it is definitely worth keeping a close eye on it.
Best of luck with your quest.

Do you think the website is 'smart' by way of cookies etc, to see if you are keeping an eye out for a reward flight?

I doubt it, but always possible. Just clear your browsing history & cookies between each search (or set your browser to do this automatically when you quit it). Or use a different browser for subsequent searches in the same session.

I have to use multiple browsers anyway as Apple have made some Flash content hard to use on Safari, so have to use both Firefox & Crome. I find sites like FlightRadar24.com work best in Firefox, whilst anything Flash related works fine in Crome.

Yeah, I have to look at the Virgin site with Opera, not Safari. Seems daft of VA to have a website that they haven't tested on Safari...

VS website 'smart'?? Very doubtful. The poor little Hamsters wouldn't be able to keep up with remembering all of that data as well as running power for the whole building :-P

'G' fare release is handled by revenue management, lord knows what draconian equations they use to figure reward release out. They'd much rather have your cash.
