Just a hypothetical question, mainly because I am totally neutotic about what ifs...

What would happen to passengers if they are booked on Reward flights and before travel the route is pulled?

same as any other cancellation. VS would have to offer a re-route or refund.

Sorry, do you mean a re-route still as a Reward flight?

Exactly that scenario happened to me when VS pulled the Tokyo flights.
I had two G's booked for the week after they stopped flying there. I have to say, VS were spot on. They simply protected us over to ANA on the same day. They gave us an ANA locator and we were able to book seats with no problems at all.

Fantastic Nick, thank you.

We have HKG Gs booked prior to a 40 night cruise, adding in the cost of one way flights would be something we could do without. Hopefully, it won’t happen though, but I can now rest easy.

makes no difference how you paid for the flight - there is no distinction in EU261 between cash and reward flightsnand how they should be treated.

This would be a change forced on you by them so they have to make it right even if it costs them more than you paid.
