Ex-EU baggage question

Hi all,

We are flying LHR-BUD and then, the next day, BUD-LHR and LHR-HKG.

Are we able to fly "hand luggage only" to BUD and back to LHR and then pick-up our checked luggage at LHR and complete check-in for the LHR-HKG segment separately, as normal?

Or will we have to check-in at BUD for both the BUD-LHR and LHR-HKG flights and ensure luggage is deposited at BUD and "checked through" at that stage?

Thanks in advance.

You won’t have to take your luggage to BUD. You’re fine to check it in with VS when you check in for the HKG flight (although of course you’ll have to clear the UK border and go landside when you get back from BUD, rather than use Flight Connections).

Are all the flights on BA or is it BA for BUD-|LHR and VS to HKG?

Either way it's not really a problem.

If all BA then when you do OLCI for the BUD-LHR-HKG flights then select 'NOT SURE' when it asks how many bags you are checking in.
