Flying Club/Alamo Points

is it me? I have always booked my rental car with Alamo through firstly VS and now VH. Only once have I received the points without having to submit a claim form 2 months after the rental finished. On one occasion Alamo insisted that the rental didn't qualify for points and after many emails with VS they eventually awarded me the points as a goodwill gesture. This year is exactly the same. My rental finished towards the end of March and I have, once again, had to submit a form to claim the points and am still waiting. On each occasion my Flying Club number has been quoted and I now check in online.
Am I doing something wrong or is it Alamo?
