Landed in my box today, 10k miles for a policy paid after 6 months premiums paid. I managed a quote for £2.83 per month so a cheap way of getting a few miles. There is no min term from what I can see.

Is there any issue with cancelling the DD after the points have posted? Other than the policy becoming invalid obviously ...

You would need to cancel the policy as well, just canceling the DD is never a good idea.

I asked the same question in a web chat before I took out the policy and was I could cancel the policy at anytime but obviously I wouldn’t be able to get any paid premiums back ......... I think I may just manage £6ish

Also you don’t need to wait till the miles have been posted to your F.C. account you can cancel as soon as you’ve the 6 months worth of premiums. Apparently it can take up to 6 weeks for the miles to be posted by which time you would have paid another months worth of premiums.

T&Cs now altered to specify the minimum premium to qualify for the bonus is £10 a month.

But they say they will honour any taken out on Thursday or before.

Sounds like this has backfired somewhat.

I applied for myself on Thursday £1.57 and my partner on Friday £1.22, at that point it did not state the minimum £10.00 premium. do you think we will get the miles promised?

If there was no mention of the minimum in the T&Cs when you took out the policy then yes, you should.

However something tells me we haven’t heard the last of this and it’ll be interesting to see what happens in 6 months.

Already lots of people on HfP threatening to go to the ombudsman if the miles don’t materialise ...

This is the article on Head for Points about the change. If you set up the policy before Friday then the no minimum premium cost still applies

I put mine through about midday Friday and terms weren't updated to £10 per month by then. Think Virgin have now said anything before 4pm Friday is OK

I did this impulsively as soon as I read Gavin's original post. Glad I did! Well done to others who got it through before the cut off!

My 6th payment came out today, has anyone else had their miles credit yet!

I just made the cut off when they reduced it.

Having made my 6th payment on Nov 22nd should I now cancel mine and Mr D’s policies and direct debits and sit back and wait for the miles ???

Not posted here yet. I would not cancel until they have. I think the original terms were they will post 60 days after the 6 months, So will chase in the new year.

I rang Virgin Money this morning to ask when I would receive my miles.

They initially said that I didn’t qualify as according to the Ts&Cs I wasn’t paying enough monthly premium. I of course immediately said I took out the policy before they changed the terms. It took them about a hour before they called me back and confirmed that I was entitled to the 10,000 miles and that they would be credited to my VS account 60 days after my 6th payment which was the 20th Nov.

I’ll be keeping an eye on my account from 17th January to make sure they appear.

I've just had a clear 10k post to my account, but no reference as to what it's for, so I am assuming its the Virgin Money miles, as there's nothing else I can think of that is due to post for that exact amount.

Same here 10k posted this evening but no reference in the activity as to what it refers to so I too assume it's the Virgin Money bonus

Mine posted last night with a date of 20th June 2018. If you search back in the transaction history you should be able to see them around the start that the policy was taken out.

Same here, posted as 7500 for life insurance and a 2500 life insurance bonus for some reason.
