Return flight advice from NYC to LON

Hi all,

I have two available options for my return date:

- 19:30 from JFK on Delta or

- 22:30 from Newark on Virgin

To me they both have pros and cons. I'm not too worried about timings, but feel the JFK lounge is more appealing but then its on Virgin. Having said that, I'm not sure it matters too much being on Virgin when everyone will likely be asleep!

Has anyone done either or both of these flights? I'll have a read of the trip reports.

Thanks

Depends on what you have to do on arrival. If you have to go to work or have a longish onward journey to get home then obviously the earlier flight might suit better.

IMHO opinion the seat on DL is better than the VS UC suite - you don't have to get out of it and turn it over to make it lie flat!

I will have the day off upon return, so no jet leg at work! Also only a fairly simple train ride or so home from Heathrow.

Is the Delta flat bed more comfortable than the Virgin?

There are a few Trip Reports of Delta's business product on this forum, but they've recently switched to A330-200s/300s on JFK-LHR which I believe hasn't been reviewed first hand on here. You can find reviews dotted around online though.

Personally I think the bedding on Delta is better from my impressions of their 767s but I haven't tried the A330 seat itself (they are different).

This was my Trip Report of the VS2.

The CH at EWR is much more compact than the one at JFK, but has no natural light. The staff were equally as good at either. The food was equally as good, the drinks the same.

I would say that EWR is arguably easier to get to if you're taking public transport.
